The interactive tour invites visitors to the Francke Foundations to immerse themselves in the time of the reconstruction of the historic buildings with the help of AR technology. Accompanied by statements from contemporary witnesses and archive photos, the web app invites you to learn more about the past:

The project offers a view of the impressive transformation and reconstruction of the Francke Foundations. Our web app gives you a comprehensive overview of the site. Important buildings of the foundations, such as the Historic Orphanage, the Lindenhof Courtyard, the Historic Library and the Francke-Monument, allow you to take a closer look at how this important site has changed. Thanks to the Augmented Reality function, historical photos are projected directly in front of today’s buildings – like a window through time. This gives you a vivid and direct insight into days long gone.
The digital lenticular image, which playfully contrasts the buildings of the past and present with a simple tilting movement of the smartphone, is also particularly fascinating. Just as exciting is the possibility of bringing the 3D model of the foundations into the room on site or at home using AR.
An interactive map helps visitors to find their way around the Francke Foundations.
The desktop browser can also be used to access exciting background information about stations in advance, making it even easier to plan a journey.
Thanks to WebXR technology, the application can be easily opened via a browser and works on both Android and iOS.
During guided tours on site, visitors can reminisce together and immerse themselves in the Francke Foundations’ past with the help of the web app. The Francke Foundations hope to reach more contemporary witnesses through the web app in order to collect and record even more memories and stories from the past.
