In the Immersive Cinema of the new visitor centre, its history can now be experienced through <\/span><b>projections onto three walls and the floor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><b>Two ten-minute short films<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> recount the tower\u2019s origins, its tilt and its restoration, as well as the construction process of the new visitor centre.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Das Immersive Kino - Geschichte hautnah erleben\" width=\"907\" height=\"510\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wYbzQpeRaQ0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Together with our partner Gecko 1, we developed the audiovisual design for the two short films. Whilst Gecko 1 produced the film footage, we took charge of the <\/span><b>design and production pipeline for the 3D visuals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. To achieve this, we created a detailed 3D model of the Leaning Tower, which blends with the live-action footage using animations and custom shaders. We also handled the <\/span><b>sound design<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and the final <\/span><b>multi-channel audio mix<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To get a feel for the eventual spatial experience and to fine-tune the content in advance, we relied on our own <\/span><b>previsualisation in Unity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> right from the conception phase. This <\/span><b>360\u00b0 simulation environment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> allowed us to evaluate the current state of the project directly within the virtual cinema space \u2013 an operated by a <\/span><b>single media server<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, which controls all end devices via an intelligent signal distribution system using Datapath controllers. The walls and floor are projected onto with a panoramic resolution of almost 16K. A total of <\/span><b>14 high-performance projectors<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> collectively project more than 34 million pixels into the eleven-metre-long room.
